WHO?
The Guild of Drama Adjudicators – otherwise widely known as GODA – is the professional
body for those involved in adjudicating all forms of competitive drama.
The Guild exists to maintain the highest possible professional standards in
its field of expertise and to ensure its members abide by a code of professional
conduct that preserves and reinforces those standards.
Members of the Guild are chosen after they have undergone a training and selection
process aimed at ensuring they meet the required standards of the organisation.
GODA is a registered charity. Its annual meeting is held in July, usually at
the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Gower Street, London.
WHAT?
The Guild plays an active part in the drama festivals movement in Great Britain
and acts as a point of contact between its members and other representative
bodies.
Every year the Guild publishes an up-to-date directory listing all its members
together with their contact details. This is distributed free of charge to around
1000 libraries, bookshops, colleges, schools and festival organisers and is
perhaps the most useful starting point for beginning the adjudicator selection
process.
